Configure Memory for Claude
Configure Memory is the Claude connector for Configure. It connects Claude to profile context you choose to share, including preferences, projects, decisions, and facts saved by other approved agents. The connection lets Claude retrieve updated context and save new information across conversations.

- In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors, and add Configure (or add the URL above as a custom connector).
- Choose Sign in now. Claude opens Configure's sign-in page.
- Sign in with your phone number and the code you receive, then approve access. You return to Claude.
The connector uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. It asks for three permissions: read your profile, search it, and save or delete memories. It never asks for access to your email, calendar, files or any other app.
Tools
| Tool | What it does | Changes data |
|---|---|---|
configure_profile_read | Returns your profile overview, or the memories in one category. | No |
configure_profile_search | Finds saved memories by words, category, source or date. With no words, lists your most recently saved memories from every source. | No |
configure_profile_remember | Saves one fact you ask Claude to keep. | Adds one memory |
configure_profile_remember_many | Saves a list of facts you ask Claude to keep, 1 to 100 per call. | Adds memories |
configure_profile_forget | Deletes a memory Claude saved, by its id, or previews the memories that contain a word and deletes them once confirmed. | Deletes |
Read and search calls do not modify data. Save calls add memories without editing or removing existing ones. Delete calls permanently remove memories; Claude asks for your permission before each one. A delete you ask to keep from coming back keeps a record of the deleted text so Claude cannot save it again.
What Configure receives
Configure receives the inputs of each tool call:
- the fact or list of facts you asked Claude to save,
- the words Claude searches for,
- the memory you asked Claude to delete.
This connector sends tool-call inputs to Configure. It does not send full conversations or Claude's internal memory. Tool calls can retrieve and contribute context across conversations. Manual imports add existing context separately. See Ongoing connections and MCP events for the distinction between tool access and event subscriptions.
Saves through this connector are limited to facts about you that you ask Claude to keep. Configure refuses facts it recognizes as payment card numbers, keys, passwords, government ID numbers, health details or other sensitive personal information (religion, politics, sexuality, criminal record, immigration status, genetics). Recognition is pattern-based, so also keep other people's personal information out of what you ask Claude to save.
Review, edit or delete
Open configure.dev/profile to see every memory, which assistant saved it, and when. From there you can edit or delete any memory, delete your whole profile, or disconnect Claude. Claude can also delete a memory it saved when you ask.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Claude says it needs you to sign in | Open the connector in Customize, then Connectors, and choose Connect. |
A save comes back as already_saved | The same fact is already in your profile. No duplicate was created. |
A save comes back as refused | The fact looked like a card number, key, password, government ID number, health detail or other sensitive personal information, so it was not stored. |
| A save says the user asked not to save this fact | You deleted that fact earlier and asked Claude not to save it again. Nothing was saved. |
| A delete returns a preview instead of deleting | Confirm the preview to let Claude submit the delete request. |
| A delete matches more than 25 memories | Nothing is deleted. Ask Claude to narrow it down or delete specific memories. |
